Day 32 - Patterns in the sky - Mrs. Maiorana - Francis Wyman Grade 1

This post first appeared on Mrs. Maiorana's Blog

One of our topics of study in first-grade science is understanding patterns in the sky. We want students to know that the sun and moon rise in the east, seem to travel across the sky, and set in the west.

Recently, Mr. Musselman came to help us with our "Shadows Investigation" where students observed how their shadows changed throughout the day. In the morning, the shadows were longer than in the afternoon.
